After the Denver Broncos fell 13-10 to the Tennessee Titans, their playoff hopes took a dive along with it. The Chiefs' Thursday night win over Oakland vaulted them into the AFC West driver's seat and landed them a first-round bye in the process. While the Patriots are on their way to another AFC East title, the Ravens are in a neck-and-neck battle with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the battle for the AFC North, which means John Harbaugh's team realizes the importance of this critical matchup. The AFC South, as sorry as it might be, could be headed for a fantastic finish. Now the Raiders joins Denver in those precarious wild-card spots, knowing they can clinch a playoff spot for themselves by winning two of their last three. If the Baltimore Ravens somehow win on Monday Night Football against the New England Patriots, then things would get even worse for Denver.
The Steelers beat the Bills today to jump into the lead in the AFC North and the three seed at least for the next 24 hours or so.
Not good. For now, however, the Broncos can stay ahead in the playoff hunt with a Patriots win over the Ravens on Monday.
