Honda is teasing its all-new 2018 Odyssey minivan before it debuts at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show in January.
The Japanese automaker dropped a teaser sketch of the vehicle, which as you can see for yourself, is on the wishful thinking side of things, as we wouldn't count on the real 2018 Odyssey looking as almost as dynamic and sleek as Honda is suggesting here.
An official teaser sketch of the all-new Odyssey was released Monday, along with four "teaser scribbles" from children of the Ohio-based Odyssey Development Team.
"The 5th generation 2018 Honda Odyssey has been completely redesigned and will feature new powertrain technology, sophisticated styling" the company added in a release, "making it the ultimate in family-friendly design and packaging" that the company says will compete with a new Chrysler Pacifica unveiled last January and now on the road.
The Odyssey has accounted for 20 percent to 25 percent of minivan sales domestically since 2006.
Granted, Honda Odyssey in it's present 4th generation manifestation remains the best selling minivan in North America 6 years running.
Minivan sales have gone from a record of almost 1.4 million in 2000 to more than 500,000 in 2015 due to an uncool "soccer mom" stigma and America's increasing love affair with crossover utility vehicles.
