Mumbai Police have announced launching an investigation into the death of veteran Bollywood actor Om Puri.
According to the police, the doubts arose after the post-mortem report showed signs of clear head injury.
The neighbors told the police that he was found dead in kitchen adjacent to bedroom while his servants said Om Puri found dead in his bedroom.
Om Puri was a regular participant in movie and literary festivals in Pakistan. He also worked in Hollywood movies such as "The Hundred-Foot Journey" with Helen Mirren in 2014 and "East is East" in 1999.
Om Puri was intoxicated and wanted to meet son before death, investigation revealed.
Mumbai: The preliminary postmortem (PM) report of the deceased actor states that the cause of death as "unknown", triggering rumours of foul play. "We have recorded the driver's statement and other's who saw him during the day".
"We have received the preliminary postmortem report of actor Om Puri, and it does not clearly state the cause of death".
A source from the hospital told Deccan Chronicle, "The body has minor head injury which can not be cause of death".
"Puri sir had consumed alcohol".
