A fashion designer has been taken to task on live television in the United Kingdom by host Piers Morgan for having the audacity to bill a friend over damage to her daughter's expensive boots while the girl was on a child's play date. "My daughter can do anything she wants and be anything she wants - as long as she's happy, then I'm happy".
The presenter called her "the worst kind of parent" in one of the tensest interviews ever on the show, causing the mum to cry on air.
He called the mom (er, "mum"), Sarah, "the worst kind of parent" as she defended her decision to invoice a friend after her daughter's £325 red leather boots were marked with pen during a play date.
The designer, who made headlines previous year after making a dress out of pubic hair, said her daughter was an aspiring model who always wore designer labels.
As Piers asked what that had to do with their conversation, Sarah said: "It has everything to do with the cyber-bullying and people having a go constantly".
Before she could finish, Piers interrupted and said: "But you're not a responsible parent".
Sarah continued to equate scratches on her daughter's shoes with physical scratches on her body.
An outraged Mr Morgan responded: "You sent her in a £325 pair of booties to your mate's house and she gets a few pen marks on them, which, by the way, happens with three-year-old girls".
On seeing the damage, the mum-of-two - who insists that she sent her daughter to the playdate with a spare pair of less-expensive shoes - immediately sent an email to her friend, Nicola Gibbs damnaging that she pay for a new pair of designer Italian shoes by February 1 or face further actions. "It's the same with her shoes".
"Below is the bill for these replacing because they cannot be fixed these are fine Italian leather! I wouldn't buy my daughter £325 pairs of shoes".
The whole incident was discussed over social media, and later on in the day Sarah Bryan spoke to The Sun to give her reaction, revealing that she was still seething with anger backstage and branding Morgan a "bully".
She also had to take a dressing-down from Morgan for "buying a 3-year-old 60 pairs of shoes". "It's ridiculous. It's so unfair", she said. You know, when I was younger I got abused and everything.
