The judge set 25-year-old Joshua LeClaire's bond at $1 million dollars.
"We all felt compelled to pray for that because I know that's what Jamie wanted", Whiting Jr. said.
Police say additional charges could be filed in the coming days against a man arrested in the death of a Sioux Falls transgender woman.
And although investigators say no evidence leads to Wounded Arrow's death being a hate crime, her friends believe it's still an opportunity to encourage equality for all.
LeClaire, who was found Sunday morning in a laundromat in central Sioux Falls after being noticed by a police officer passing by, is being charged with first and second degree murder, two counts of first degree manslaughter, false impersonation and possession of marijuana. It's there where LeClaire is accused of stabbing Jamie Lee Wounded Arrow, then leaving her body. According to a search warrant affidavit, she suffered at least five stab wounds to the upper torso.
The Argus Leader (http://argusne.ws/2idBKrq ) reports video security footage shows LeClaire entering and leaving Wounded Arrow's apartment building early January 1.
Friends told the Argus Leader that Wounded Arrow worked in customer service and loved to spend her free time at the library. LeClaire was also seen on the video throwing Wounded Arrow's shoes and blood-stained wallet into nearby trees, he said.
