A second offering resulting from the tie-up will be the Q2 2017 launch of Red Hat Cloud Access for IBM Cloud.
Hybrid cloud application management company Cloudsoft is already using the service in beta and has deployed its Red Hat Enterprise Linux workloads in the IBM Private Cloud, the companies said. The new tools can "simplify the time-consuming tasks of selection, mapping and data integration, allowing developers to use IBM services or combine them with their own data", the company said in the release.
John Morris, general manager of IBM Cloud Object Storage, comments "Clients need faster access to more of their data to become cognitive businesses with a deep understanding of markets and customer needs", and continues "IBM's new cloud storage services and innovative pricing model provides clients an efficient and less expensive way to act on insights from unpredictable data patterns".
IBM also announced, with the support of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) it has developed the Singapore Fintech Hub, which is now linked to the company's financial services developer cloud.
"The strategic collaboration between IBM and Red Hat is designed to enable clients to more easily adopt open source products and OpenStack cloud software while preserving their existing investments and creating new business opportunities, said Zane Adam, vice president, IBM Cloud". "Now, customers who don't have in-house expertise to manage an OpenStack infrastructure can more confidently consume Red Hat OpenStack Platform and Red Hat Ceph Storage on IBM Private Cloud".
Veritas has certified the IBM Cloud Object Storage family of software and cloud services for use with Veritas NetBackup 8.0, making it easier for customers to migrate data from on-premises systems to the cloud for greater storage capabilities.
Today's announcement builds on a long-standing relationship between IBM and Veritas that includes joint adoption of one another's technology in order to address customer challenges. The facility will be made available via sales channels, and is meant to form part of IBM's Global Business Services framework model. "Veritas is a great example of a company using IBM Cloud to innovate for both its business and its clients". In a morning geared towards the FS market segment, IBM announced new developer tools for Financial Services, as well as blockchain as a service on Hyperledger Fabric. Similarly, IBM Resiliency Services includes Veritas NetBackup as an integral part of its managed Backup-as-a-Service offering.
