Following on from a rather seriously toned trailer for upcoming Sonic game, Sonic Forces, from mid-2016, we now have our first bit of gameplay from the upcoming Sonic title. Sonic Team head Takashi Iizuka admitted that they need more time in polishing the video game to ensure that the final output will be something that is what they really want. The 3D Sonic games have gone through a number of changes over the years, but Sega seems to have settled on the rollercoaster approach to level design for at least one of Sonic Forces' stages, meaning you'll be sent hurtling towards the screen as Sonic is flung this way or that way on what appears to be a linear, minimally interactive track. The game, which runs on the new engine "The Hedgehog Engine 2", pays reference to the struggle between the good and evil forces. On top of this, a 2D remaster of the classic Sonic games called "Sonic Mania" is also to be released in Summer.
The game looks similar to some of the recent 3D Sonic games like "Sonic Colors", which a title that came out on the Nintendo Wii and had a handheld port to the Nintendo DS back in 2010.
First up, there is a whopping 30 seconds of gameplay. Lastly, there are two screenshots.
