The Balenciaga bag differs from the Ikea bag in at least one significant way: It's "constructed of blue wrinkled, glazed leather".
What will we see next?
Surely we jest, but c'mon.
The IKEA tote bag is just 99 cents compared to Balenciaga's $2,145 bag that's remarkably similar.
Luxury fashion brand Balenciaga has designed a large blue tote bag that bears a striking resemblance to IKEA's iconic Frakta bag, but with a significantly higher price tag. "Nothing beats the versatility of a great big blue bag!"
"Finding beauty in the every day", to quote Balenciaga, the brand released earlier this year its "Blanket printed textured-leather tote", created to look like a plastic carrier case for bedding.
Buy a Chanel Classic Flap bag and there's a fair chance you'll make money on it if you decide to resell (over the last six years, the bag's worth has escalated by more than 70 percent). At Paris Fashion Week earlier this year, its 2017 fall-winter menswear line was inspired by none other than former Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.
But back to Balenciaga's latest sensation. Internet fashionistas are having a field day with Balenciaga's "Arena Extra-Large Shopper Tote Bag" that comes in a shade the company calls "bleu sulphate" (we call it "Smurfette") that sells online for $2,145. According to Elle, it's also available in yellow and black in case you want to avoid anyone talking to you about Ikea's infamous meatballs.
