The latest images from the BraamPark site also suggests that fire fighters have done a stellar job extinguishing the flames.
A fire broke at one of the buildings inside the Braampark offices in central Johannesburg.
"We had to get water from the street".
"The first fire engine arrived, but there was no water in fire hydrants around the building, so we sourced water from around the block", he said.
Initial images only revealed smoke emanating from the building's roof.
"We first thought (there was) smoke because of the guys who were working on the roof".
"The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire." she sang, tongue in cheek.
"At around 1.45pm we received a call that there was a fire on the fifth floor at Braampark in Braamfontein".
Synock Matobako, Spokesperson for City of Johannesburg's Emergency Management Services confirmed that, "The fire started on the top floor and the building had been evacuated". He suspects it was caused by a short circuit. The Johannesburg Metro Police Department, SA Police Service, and emergency services responded to the fire.
An employee who works on the top floor said they were fortunate to have escaped. The building was evacuated immediately. "We don't want to put lives in danger by sending them to top floor and they end up falling to the ground floor".
Matabakho said there were no serious injuries reported. "Forensic people from the police's side will come and continue with the investigation".
The building housed FNB offices.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated, but Minnaar said that extensive damage was caused.
