A three-storey building under construction has collapsed in the Ilasa area of Lagos state, leaving many, especially workers, trapped.
The building under construction at Ilasa area of the state came down at about 2:30 pm trapping site workers under the rubble.
According to reports, the construction workers were at work when the building suddenly made a sudden lurch and began to crumble before they could get their bearing.
Further investigation revealed that fourteen of the labourers have been rescued and some are being treated by the agency's medical team and Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS) while some had been rushed to the hospital.
Director, Lagos State Fire Service, Rasak Fadipe told PM News that the three-storey building under construction collapsed at Richard Abimbola Street, Ilasa, Lagos.
It was gathered that rescue operation is ongoing at the scene - located at 2/4, Richard Abimbola, Off Limca Road, Ire Adri Estate.
About thirteen people have been brought out from the rubble with an unknown number of people still trapped.
Rescue operations are ongoing at the building, which was cordoned off by emergency workers.
