While confirming this on Twitter, the Senior Special Assistant to the Acting President, Mr. Laolu Akande, also said that the document was formally received in the office of the Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, on Friday.
"President YemiOsinbajo will assent to the 2017 Budget", Akande tweeted on Wednesday evening to clear the controversies.
Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the minister of information and culture on Wednesday, May 17, said the National Assembly has yet to transmit the 2017 Appropriation Bill passed into law last week to the Presidency.
Professor Osinbajo has been acting as president since May 7 when President Muhammadu Buhari headed for the United Kingdom for a follow-up consultation with his doctors who are to determine the length of his stay there.
Meanwhile in exercising the presidential authorities vested in the executive arm of government, Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, yesterday signed three executive orders that will significantly change some of the ways government business and operations are conducted in the country forthwith. "It has not been transmitted officially to the Presidency", the minister said.
According to the statement, when the time comes, everything is set and he is satisfied, the acting president will sign the budget.
"We have not yet received the budget 2017 from the national assembly, they are working on the final paging and transmission", Enang said on Channels Television Politics Today.
Speaking further on budget, the Information minister said an "advanced copy" of the budget was in possession of the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Udo Udoma.
